In This Issue: Honestly - it doesn't rain, it pours. This week is HUGE SERIOUSLY HUGE. In here there's The Strypes, Beck, Counting Crows, Vance Joy, Sticky Fingers....an absolute heap of outrageous talent that is releasing new stuff in the coming months. 2014 is definitely looking up.

The Strypes

Irish rock ‘n’ roll wunderkinds The Strypes are releasing their second EP, Four Track Mind, to be available on August 19. They’ve been tearing it up worldwide, and when you remember that they’re only teenagers, it makes us all feel a bit inadequate. A band to watch.

Counting Crows

They’re consistently called one of the best live bands touring today, and now Counting Crows are releasing a new record, Somewhere Under Wonderland– out September 5 through Capitol Records. They’ve also released a film, Palisades Park, which is out now.

Beck

Remember when Beck trolled us all and released an album of sheet music? Well now he’s recruited some of the biggest names in music (Jack White, Jeff Tweedy etc etc), to bring his album to life. It’s out August 1 through Capitol Records/ Warby Parker.

Vance Joy

It seems like a long time ago that Vance Joy released “Riptide”, even though it was only just over a year ago. Now he’s ready to release his debut. Called Dream Your Life Away, it’ll be out September 5 through Liberation Music. Bound to be one of the big records of the year.

Sticky Fingers

Another Australian act that’s going great guns is Newtown’s Sticky Fingers– who have just announced that their second record Land Of Pleasure will be released August 1. Again, one of the biggest local releases of the year. Good lord, it’s looking like the second half of 2014 is going to be big.

Weezer

Jeepers, the moment you think a band has slunk away they come back again. Weezer will release their ninth album – Everything Will Be Alright In The End on September 30 through Republic Records.

Upon A Burning Body

A metal band names – they just keep getting better. Upon A Burning Body will release their new album The World Is My Enemy Now on August 15 through Sumerian Records. The lead single is out, called "Red Razor Wrists". Seriously.

Jungle

Since we wrote about Jungle a couple of months ago – they have well and truly become the newest ‘it’ band around. They’re playing Splendour in a couple of weeks, so if you’re there be sure to check them out. Their debut album dropped last Friday, so have a listen.
